Krishna is born at midnight, so you stay awake to meet him.
Janmashtami is the celebration of Krishna's birth - and the timing is everything. He was born at midnight. In a prison cell, during a storm, in darkness so complete that the guards outside fell asleep under a spell. His father, Vasudeva, immediately carried him across a flooded river to the village of Gokul, where he would be raised safely hidden from the king Kamsa. The whole story is happening in darkness, in secrecy, in the middle of the night. This is intentional. The divine does not always arrive in daylight, in ceremony, expected and announced. Janmashtami is observed by fasting...
Let the idea move immediately into prayer or temple ritual.
On Janmashtami night, opening the Prarthana prayer library at midnight and reading a prayer as the fast is broken is a complete act of devotion - wherever you are.
Keep the context connected rather than isolated.
The god who told the whole truth in the middle of battle.
Philosophy delivered in the pause before battle begins.
